Welcome to Triggered ..... A requiem of healing #thishappened
Triggered is a multi sensory, multimedia, post-traumatic story. How exactly does trauma cast a shadow over the wholeness of black male selfhood? When the shared cultural values of black and brown communities demand that men suppress their vulnerability and meet with their psychology alone.
Triggered follows a day in the life of two such men, Malik and Keith. As these men relive their stories of abusive childhoods, they embark on a journey to define their own manhood and identify Malik and Keith are played by Keith Mascoll SAG-AFTRA, AEA and is directed by John Oluwole Adekoje.
The “Triggered” experience is a two Act 90 minute long tour de force with Act 2 being Talkbacks facilitated by mental health clinicians.
“Triggered is a powerful, and riveting monologue that needed to be shared to raise the awareness around childhood trauma and the implications of living through this pain and suffering in silence.”
We are proud to Announce that Triggered a one man show has been awarded it's 2nd Grant from the Boston Foundation. The Grant will help to continue develop this one man show, community discussions, and inner monologue work with black and brown boys/Men to help them express their deepest feelings.
